Mike Scioscia is not fooling around with Hambone. The hunch last night was that Hambone was batting seventh because he was facing a lefty in Joe Saunders. But tonight he is facing a Right Handed Pitcher... who just so happens to be named Felix Hernandez. Where does Josh put his Hambone tonight? Number 7, medium rare, you want fries with that?
Yes perhaps Vernon Hamilton is going to stay at seventh in the batting order and that is what this means - lefty/righty makes no difference, you hide the disaster at #7. Meanwhile Aybar leading off is the stupidest thing Scioscia has done today, assuming that he did not bet on tonight's NBA game (is the fix in?). Or is it just a lefty/righty platoon at the top of the order?
Scioscia said the leadoff spot could be a bit of a platoon for the time being.
