Angels have traded third baseman Alberto Callaspo to the Oakland Athetlics after leaving tonight's game after the fifth inning. The news was first reported by FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. Callaspo's salary this season was a little over $4 Million and his contract runs out after next season when he will earn just under $5 Million. Clearly the Angels wanted to free up some of their ballooned payroll.
Danny Knobler of CBS Sports has tweeted that the A's will give the Halos second baseman Grant Green. Green is a twenty-five year old righty who was drafted by the A's in the 2009 Draft (thirteenth overall, behind Mike Trout) out of the University of Southern California. He has five major league games under his belt in which he has earned one RBI and struck out six times.
So, who's next?
