Final Score: Angels 5 Athletics 4
Tyler Skaggs had one tough inning, a four-run fourth, which looked to doom the Angels to a sweep at home, by division rivals Oakland on Wednesday night, but if you've been watching this latest home-stand, you'll know that it's their new "thing" to tie games up in late innings, and send them to extras. Tonight was, in fact, the fourth extra inning game on this homestand, the most since 1975.
The Angels rebounded from the 4-1 deficit thanks to some timely hitting, and a handful of mistakes from the Athletics. But nonetheless, they managed to save some dignity and play extra baseball, and just when it seemed like it would be a repeat of recent nights...when we saw Yoslan Herrera warming up and thought "I'm going to bed now. I'm sad."...when we watched Mike Trout hit one off the bat into center, only to have it fall short...there stepped up a champion of men. A champion of BALD men. Chris Iannetta stepped up to the plate and hit his first  walk-off homerun as an Angel, and got the Gatorade shower  due to him shortly after.
This was an early statement series on a long season, and while I wish it would have gone better, it could have gone worse, too. This team is fighting, despite it's injuries, ineptitude and inconsistencies. I feel good about these guys, but I'm not sure why.
Now...post your GIFs of glory, in praise of The Bald One.
