Final Score in Detroit (Game 3): Angels 1 Tigers 2
WP: Rick Porcello LP: Hector Santiago S: Joe Nathan
Who knew allowing just two hits across 5.2 IP would net a loss! Then again, Hector Santiago did walk five batters. While he had no earned runs, there was a fiasco in the 1st inning when Miguel Cabrera walked and there were a ton of throwing errors between Hank Conger, Mike Trout, and Santiago himself. Our good friend Ian Kinsler scored on that disaster. Conger threw the ball wildly, Trout had a hard time getting it in, and Santiago attempted to get Kinsler out at home. Nothing worked.
For the Halos, they were able to produce a run in just the 1st inning on a ground ball courtesy of Howie Kendrick. Luckily, Albert Pujols was able to trot home.
The run that earned the Tigers the win arrived in the 6th when Nick Castellanos lined the ball to center. Austin Jackson scored and that sealed the deal. No runs came after that on either side. Don't worry, Josh Wall did not enter the game to lay an egg on Easter Sunday.
That is about it, folks. It was quiet and ugly. The confusion continues.
