Shoemaker Deals, Albert Homers Twice in Sunday Afternoon Victory

With this win, the Halos advance to 24-19. If the season were to end today, the leading Wild Card spot would be found in Anaheim. But we have our sights on bigger and better things.

Final Score in Anaheim, Game 4: Rays 2, Angels 6

WP: Matt Shoemaker / LP: David Price

Everything went right. Matt Shoemaker, who was called up in response to Hector Santiago getting shoved into the bullpen, delivered a beautiful performance this afternoon. He showed up to the ballpark today and dealt six strikeouts to go along with only two hits. After six innings, he was thanked for his work and Mike Morin took over. Morin allowed a single run and the Rays lineup was quiet the rest of the way. Joe Smith and Ernesto Frieri also had appearances today and struck out two batters each. Well done, 'pen.

The 'Batter of the Day' was Albert Pujols. After not hitting a single home run since May 4, Albert hit TWO. Both of them came off of David Price. Tampa Bay's ace was not all there, perhaps he was busy naming things. While he did not walk anyone, David Price allowed six hits and five earned runs. Grant Green also had a three-hit game. It did not take much for the Halos to secure this one.

Tomorrow, the Astros enter The Big A. We will have more information on that series soon.
