Final Score in Anaheim: Angels 9 Astros 3
To announce his comeback to the big club, Angels 3B David Freese let his bat do the talking. Freese came up with the bases loaded and two outs and hit a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning and the Angels took it from there. He finished with four RBIs on the night. Mike Trout busted out of his slump, with three RBIs on two singles and a sac fly and most importantly NO strikeouts.
Meanwhile Tyler Skaggs was the epitome of cruise control allowing one run on five hits and a walk in seven innings pitched. He struck out six Houston batters. Former Rangers bagman Scott Feldman was let down by his teammates early and often as two errors accounted for five unearned runs.
Every Angels starter had at least one hit in the game as the Halo offense produced a dozen of them. Howie Kendrick walked twice in the game - how often does Halley's Comet get jealous of such a rarity? All in all a good night, a little too long but I was out seeing that new movie about the Gigolo with Woody Allen in it (pretty good and the wife liked it too) and made it back in time to write up the postgame thread. Oh and to see Michael Kohn fizzle with a 9-1 lead. Oh well, Light that baby up, it was all in all a great night.
