In his third major league game, former first round draft pick C.J. Cron has been penciled in as Designated Hitter and will bat fourth. In what seemed to be the place where veteran Raul Ibañez would do his damage as long as Josh Hamilton was on the Disabled List, here stands a 24-year-old with little AAA and all of two games of major league experience usurping the role of power-hitting RBI machine.

The lineup for Monday night's game against the Yankees:

Erick Aybar SS, Mike Trout CF, Albert Pujols 1B, Cron DH, Howie Kendrick 2B, Ian Stewart 3B, Chris Iannetta Catching, Grant Green LF, Collin Cowgill RF and Jered Weaver on the mound.

This afternoon, Luis Jimenez was sent back down to AAA and relief pitcher Cory Rasmus was called up t the big club. With Grant Green a tenuous choice to play the hot corner, it looks like Ian Stewart will man the third sack for the next few weeks.
