Wow just wow

Former first round draft pick Cam Bedrosian has been called up to the major leagues and will be in uniform tonight for the Angels as they take on the Houston Astros.

Bedrosian had a slow start in the minors but has done everything a reliever could do to get the call. Promoted early in the year form High-A to AA Arkansas he has put up an ERA of 1.12, all mostly from one bad outing. His most exciting stat is 45 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched. While those were only Double-A level batters, it bodes well for him in the majors.

Michael Kohn had a hot streak of reliability for most of the season but was sent to AAA today to make room for Bedrosian. He had allowed six runs in his four most recent innings pitched and the gong has been banged on the SS Scioscia: show or ship out.

No word on Bedrosian's bullpen role but this is basically Jerry Dipoto cashing in the best chips his minor league casino has got. Bedrosian is the son of former major league relief ace Steve Bedrosian.
