Every summer Halos Heaven gets together over the All Star Break in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada for fun and debauchery. Read more about it AT THIS LINK.

This year we begin on Saturday July 12 and run thru Wednesday, July 16. To be close to each other we all stay around affordable Downtown Las Vegas. One of the casino hotels there, The Golden Gate, is advertising rooms for $9 on Tuesday night and $14 per night on other weeknights. This is the lowest Vegas rate I have ever seen and I have been hitting Sin City regularly since 1989. Here is a screenshot of their reservation page calendar for July:

So this means you could stay three nights in Vegas and hang out with the Panthers and Pantherettes of Halos Heaven for $37. If you Air-BnB your house you could make money on this trip. Or you could bet the Home run Derby and All Star Game while we watch in a plush Casino Sports Book and make a profit that way.

Book that room now at this link and see you in sin city!

So here is our itinerary - Times and some locations to be determined.

SATURDAY NIGHT JULY 12 HANGING WITH LADYBUG
Time and Location To Be Determined
Ladybug will be selecting a bar in Downtown Vegas to hang out with us all and regale us with tales of the nursing profession, going to high school with another prominent member of this site and also Angels baseball of course (the Angels will have played a 4:15 PM game in Texas). Last one to pass out take a picture, please!

SUNDAY AFTERNOON JULY 13 WATCHING ANGELS @ RANGERS IN A SPORTSBOOK
Noon at a Casino Sportsbook To Be Determined

Get there early and bet on the game! We will be watching the final Angels baseball game before the break at a sportsbook in Downtown. What is it like to watch a game when all the money you brought with you has been bet at the window? Find out! See ya there at Noon

SUNDAY NIGHT JULY 13 MINIATURE GOLF
Kiss Miniature Golf Course
, 9 PM - We did this last year and it was pretty fun. My assumption going in was that Moondoggy would be a cheat at golf but he mopped the floor with me fair and square.

MONDAY JULY 14 NOON SCAVENGER HUNT
Noon - 5 PM at TBD
There will be amazing prizes for the winning team - we meet at a Downtown Vegas restaurant at Noon and then the list is posted - You have 5 hours to get what you can in this trip around historic Vegas looking for a little bit of everything.

MONDAY JULY 14 HOME RUN DERBY VIEWING
5 PM - at a Casino Sporstsbook To Be Determined

We do this every year. It is fun. We watch the derby at a casino sportsbook on the Vegas strip wearing RED and winning bets (if we make the right bet). Trout might not be in it this season but it is still fun to watch and even more fun if you have bet on the event.

MONDAY JULY 14 LATE NIGHT BOWLING
11 PM - ??? at a Bowling Alley To Be Determined

Come on, you can break 69 can't you?

TUESDAY JULY 15 ANNUAL PINBALL TOURNAMENT
1 PM at the Pinball Hall of Fame

Oh you will have thought you died and went to heaven. Or you will have thought "Wow I am in a room with a large number of vintage pinball machines". Either way you will have fun and then we will compete for prizes and bragging rights!

TUESDAY JULY 15 ALL STAR GAME WATCHING
5 PM at a Sportsbook on the Strip

Mike Trout will be leading off the bottom of the first inning. We will be watching in a Vegas Strip Casino Sports Book dressed in Halo gear and hoping to root on Erick Aybar and Garrett Richards as well.

WEDNESDAY JULY 16
Events to be determined - one of which will be our annual Penny Slot Tournament. There is bound to be carousing and as a few other items are added to our final day and night together!

MORE:

We congregate in the DOWNTOWN Vegas part of town. This saves money on hotel costs over those fancy tourist traps on the Vegas Strip and keeps us close together before we go out prowling the streets. Book your own hotel for the nights you want to stay:

MAIN STREET STATION - near Ladybug's favorite Vegas brewery.

PLAZA HOTEL - close to the greyhound station.

EL CORTEZ HOTEL - they cleaned it up a but but it is still the greatest dive left in Sin City.

THE FOUR QUEENS HOTEL - in the middle of Fremont street downtown if you like being in the center of things.

THE GOLDEN NUGGET - This is like a Strip hotel it is so upper-crusty. If you have a high maintenance spouse who demands the finer things in life, dump her, grab an internet hoochie and live it up at this fancy place for one-fifth the cost of a comparable Strip hotel.

THE GOLDEN GATE - It looks like one of the nights of our stay here is going for nine bucks, quick book it before Mrs. Halofan insists I save ten bucks and end up at this dive.

THE D HOTEL - This used to be Fitzgerald's - they took out the Leprechaun statues and now its supposed to be upscale, but sleazy is always making a comeback in beautiful Downtown Vegas.

There are other casino-hotels in downtown but this is a good cross-section and any of these beats the Motel 6 you were likely conceived at. Book your rooms for any or all the nights we are going to be there. Ain't no Angels games in Anaheim Sunday thru Wednesday so you may as well party on with us.

Obviously this is an adult excursion and kids are not allowed at most of the places we will be going. This is a no pressure outing, you are under no pressure to drink or gamble but we would like you to have fun. We have been doing this for years and it is a casual, fun time. We nerd out, dress up in our finest Angels jerseys and teeshirts and generally draw attention to ourselves in memorable ways.

and the time we did this in September to celebrate Gene Autry's 100th birthday LINK

There were other debaucherous forays into sin city decked out in halos. Shhhhhh....
