Efren Navarro has been rewarded for his walk-off hit last night with a bigger role on the club. C.J. Cron has been sent down to make room for Huston Street. Cron went 0 for 6 last night and Navarro has, frankly, been much better in a limited role than Cron. Efren is also a little more defensively versatile as he can play the outfield and look, there he is in tonight's lineup in Left. here is the lineup:
- Kole Calhoun RF
- Mike Trout CF
- Albert Pujols 1B
- Josh Hamilton DH
- Howie Kendrick 2B
- David Freese 3B
- Efren Navarro LF
- Chris Iannetta C
- John McDonald SS
With Collin Cowgiill out another five to six weeks recovering from nose and thumb surgery, look for Navarro to take a bigger role with the big club up here, and he has earned it with some outstanding seasons in Salt Lake. In his age-27 season, Scioscia is striking while the iron is hot.
In other news, Grant Green continues to rot on the bench and Hank Conger gave up his jersey number 16 to Street. Hank will be wearing 24 in his next Catching appearance. Garrett Richards will hope to make the All Star selection powers that be look stupid as he faces King Felix tonight at 6 PM.
