Final Score in Anaheim: Angels 8 Rangers 5

Jered Weaver recorded his 1,400th career strikeout as part of a seven strikeout performance in his final home start of the 2014 regular season.

The bats backed up Jered's march to his 18th victory of the season. Mike Trout and Albert Pujols each hit a two-run home run and David Freese launched a three-run shot. Trout also hit a high near-homer of the deepest part of the tall RF wall that he hustled into a triple. Howie Kendrick and Pujols had three-hits while Trout scored three runs in the game.

Pitching to start the eighth, Weave allowed two hits and was removed at the 102-pitch mark. Jason Grilli and Joe Thatcher made a mess of the table Jered had set though, and then some of their own and by the time Joe Smith could mop up the eighth an 8-1 ballgame was suddenly 8-5. Grilli of late has been downright scary and Thatcher gives no confidence either. But getting in work with a seven run lead is supposed to build character, right?

Huston Street came into the game with a three-run lead and set the Rangers down in order to secure the 96th Win of the season for the Halos. It was Huston's 15th Save as an Angel. Light Up Your Halo, the final home game of the regular season begins at 12:35 Sunday afternoon.
