Cron Strong, Heaney Iffy in Angels Spring Final Sunday

Angels postgame...

Allan Henry-USA TODAY Sports

The Angels had the winning run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning but it was not meant to be as they went down against the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8-6.

C.J. Cron was 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored - on this monster home run that actually cleared the Tempe Diablo Stadium outfield grass eating area.

Here is video of Cron's home run:

Halo starter Andrew Heaney displayed why Mike Scioscia explained that the Angels would be going with a four-man rotation to start the first turn in the Halo pitching order to begin the season. He had an explosive third inning where he allowed four runs, after allowing one int he second inning.

Heaney left the game having allowed a hit in the sixth inning - a run that also scored. Despite five great strikeouts, those six runs seemed to be a punched ticket to Triple A to start the season. Heaney will likely start Friday's game against the Dodger at Angel stadium, the second game of the freeway series.
