Final in Texas: Angels 10, Rangers 2

On a bright and beautiful day in Arlington Texas, the Angels soaked up the sunshine on the way to taking two-of-three from the Rangers. The Halos used a variety of methods to score their 10 runs; they manufactured them using small-ball, they took advantage of sloppy play by the Rangers' defense, and came through with timely hits by almost each of the Angels starters.

Remember when Mike Trout used to do this all of the time? Up until this point, this was only the second stolen base by the Angels' team.

Without using the long ball, the 10 runs were the most scored by the club this young season. Albert Pujols, David Freese, Johnny Giavotella, and Matt Joyce each drove in two runs, while Mike Trout contributed 3 singles and a walk.

Hector Santiago (1-0, 2.92 ERA) went 7 strong innings, giving up just one run on 4 hits. The lefty starter struck out 5 and walked two, while continuing his stellar performance in Texas. Santiago now has a 3-0 record against the Rangers in Arlington.

Erick Aybar does a great job hanging with a curveball to lay down the perfect bunt plating Collin Cowgill on a squeeze-play:.

The Angles have an off day Thursday before travelling to Houston to start a 3-game series against the Astros on Friday.
