Spotlight Game
Double-A: Arkansas Travelers
In a night on the farm where runs came as easy as a Matt Joyce strikeout, the Arkansas Travelers fell right in line with their organizational counterparts. Defeating the Springfield Cardinals (STL) 6-0, courtesy of six-run onslaught in the first, was only part of the story, though. Crafty lefty Nate Smith carved through the Springfield lineup, throwing seven scoreless innings, striking out five, walking two and giving up only three hits.
Sherman Johnson (2B) helped the offense with a double, a run scored and two walks. Honestly, this kid's eye is ridiculous. He has 52 BBs to 48 Ks on the year. That's...really good. I swear, if Sosh bats this the General anywhere other than first or ninth, I just don't know, man. I just don't know. The major damage in the first came off the bat of Wade Hinkle (1B) when he hit a massive grand slam, the Travs' first of 2015, to score Jared Mitchell (CF), Brian Hernandez (3B) and Blake Gailen (RF). Enjoy the fireworks below.
