Spotlight Game
Class A Advanced: Inland Empire 66ers
Sean Newcomb took the mound yesterday and did a really nice job. He pitched five innings, gave up one earned run on five hits, walked two and struck out six. Although he was saddled with the loss, he still lowered his ERA to 3.14. Pitch efficiency continues to be an issue, as those five innings took Duke 88 pitches to complete. Alan Busenitz came on in relief and gave up three earned runs on four hits and two walks. Since the offense couldn't do much of anything, that was all the Stockton Ports (OAK) needed to secure the win.
Roberto Baldoquin (SS) recorded a single, and Caleb Adams (RF) hit a triple, ultimately scoring on a single by Bo Way (CF), who went 2-for-4. More often than not, one extra-base hit and a bunch of singles isn't gonna get it done in professional ball.
Triple-A: Salt Lake Bees
Double-A: Arkansas Travelers
Class A: Burlington Bees
Rookie: Orem Owlz
