Another piece of the puzzle, this time from Joel Sherman of the New York Post, that further confirms what we already knew: Jerry Dipoto did not approve of the Hamilton acquisition (and probably not the Pujols one either), and the Dipoto-Scioscia conflict really was about trying to modernize the team to be more competitive in an analytical era of baseball.
