Veteran baseball writer Tim Brown wrote a nice little article last night about Josh Hamilton's return to Anaheim. Hamilton had a good night, the Rangers won, but get this...the Angels fans BOOED him. They booed him a few times, actually. Tim Brown attempted to get to the bottom of it, by postulating the eternal, meme-ified question of "Because, why?". Tim Brown wasn't really sure why they booed him. He had some suspicions, mainly with the finger pointing at the Angels:
What people seem to have forgotten is Josh Hamilton did not leave the Angels. He had a tough time. He gave in, to the detriment of himself and those who care for him. He began the road back, the same familiar road.
And then the Angels left him.
He may have been on to something there, but his piece ultimately throws it's hands up in the air, unsure of why some fans in a professional sports stadium would boo a player. I woke up this morning on a mission to get down to the bottom of the matter. Why did Josh Hamilton get booed? I'm going to be 100% real with you guys right now: I'm not sure why he was booed, either. There really isn't much info to go off of in this investigation, other than the 22 pages of Google search results I was able to find, simply by Googling "booed in return". Tim, if you're reading this, I know it may not be that much help, but the answer has to be buried somewhere in these endless articles about players getting booed when they return to their old stadium. If the answer is NOT in here, I'm afraid we'll just have to wait until the next article about a player being booed is written. Maybe that writer will have the answer. Together, we can figure this out.
If you have any leads or information regarding the reason Josh Hamilton was booed by Angels fans last night, please contact MLB authorities, or Tim Brown, immediately. Together, as a community, we can get to the bottom of this.
