Here are today's Angels transactions: pic.twitter.com/pcvGXKcuzx

It's that time of year...expanded rosters and September call-ups, all in hopes of keeping the team afloat while also getting a look at some future talent. Jett Bandy is really the only one here that I'm excited about, as Nick Tropeano and Mike Morin have already been to The Show. Bandy gives me a little jolt of excitement as he's a possible solution to the middling backstop options provided by Chris Iannetta and Carlos Perez. I'll go easy on Perez, though, because he's shown he's got some good stuff defensively, and it's tough to knock his plate prowess when he's not getting a whole lot of consistent ABs to begin with. Chris Iannetta, while having a nice bounce back from his impossibly bad start to 2015, is just not the type of guy you want at the plate. Sure, he also provides a good glove, and has become one of the better pitch framers in MLB, but there has to be more to a successful catcher than that.
Also, more than anything, I am psyched to drop a "The BANDYMAN CAN!!" into a headline or article or two.
Other notables here: the return of David Freese and Matt Joyce. Remember Matt Joyce? He used to be the guy we hated in LF, before the team traded for new guys to hate in LF. It'll be like old hating times again. As for Freese, Mike Scioscia is stoked to have some (more) veteran presence in the lineup, I'm sure, even though Kaleb Cowart has proved he deserves a shot at the gig. Cowart had an ugly start at the dish, but has smoothed out his ABs and rebounded surprisingly well. The defense was there from the beginning; couple that with an increase in AVG and you have our possible 3B of the future. Oh, and speaking of infielders, Taylor Featherston is back. So...yeah. There's that.
Some other guys got DFA'd. Doesn't really matter. All that matters is:
THE BANDYMAN CAN
or
WHOA OHH OH BIG OL JETT HIT A LINE DRIVE
or
OH BANDY, YOU CAME AND YOU HIT WITHOUT TANKING BUT SOSH SAT YOU AGAIN OH BANDY
and so on, so forth.
