Baseball is coming a bit earlier in 2017 (at the end of February), and that is never a bad thing. In 2016, their first spring game was on March 2nd, which puts spring training 2017 almost one full week earlier. Rejoice!!

The Angels haven’t “officially” released the full schedule, but you can see all their home games right here. Their first game will take place against the Brewers at Tempe Diablo Stadium.

What are we going to do until then?

  1. Holidays. We have Thanksgiving that many of us are still recovering from, not to mention Christmas and New Year’s just around the corner.
  2. Follow the winter leagues. Anthony Bemboom, Juan Graterol, Jefry Marte, Gregorio Petit, Austin Adams, and others are currently playing ball in the Caribbean.
  3. Keep an eye on Halos Heaven, especially around important off-season dates:

December 1st - Collective bargaining agreement expires. We’ll have details on any important changes to the new CBA.

December 2nd - Team deadline to give arbitration eligible players an offer (non-tender deadline)

December 5th-8th - Winter meetings in Washington D.C.

December 8th - Rule 5 Draft

January 18th - Hall of Fame class announced

Some time in early February - pitchers and catchers report to spring training

So there you have it - plenty of baseball stuff coming your way to keep you busy through the long, cold winter of our discontent. Expect Billy Eppler to be busy, and we’ll be here to report on it at Halos Heaven.

But temper those expectation with all the off-season moves because we’ve all heard the story of Buttercup.
