MLB Draft 2016: Angels select prep-star SS Nolan "Nonie" Williams in the third round

Williams is an 18-year-old prep-star out of Kansas

In round 3, the Angels went for a speedy and strong switch-hitting fielder with a good array of tools. Most notably are his foot speed, bat speed, and arm strength.  You can watch a video of him hitting here - that bat speed is insane!  Williams is homeschooled but played ball for Turner High school where he hit .550 this past season with 3 HR in 20AB.  Williams is currently committed to LSU.

Williams is 6'2" tall, just turned 18, and weighs in at 200#. Williams is a bit big for SS, but could also play second and has an arm for third.  He's considered to be strong and one of the best raw athletes in the 2016 high school class.  Although he is a switch-hitter, he bats much better from the right side.  With a 6.5 60 yard dash, He's very fast for his size, which is not common unless your name is Mike Trout.
