Angels trade rumors: All the current Angels updates!

Who might move this week?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Trade talk is heating up as we head into the final days before the non-waiver trade deadline.  I'll keep this updated as the week moves on, so save this page!

  • Joe Smith.  Reported on Friday that the Mets were interested.  Smith's contract is up at the end of the year so it'd be a good move to trade him.
  • Huston Street. Reported Monday that the Giants may be interested.  They are looking for bullpen help.  It's been a rough year for Street but he saved 40 games last year.
  • Hector Santiago. Reported Monday that the Angels are fielding calls on Santiago and are listening to offers.  Doesn't mean they want to move him, but they also haven't said no.  He is a relative bargain at $5 million and is under control though 2017.
  • The Marlins (at least), have been showing interest in Matt Shoemaker.

Just because there is interest, doesn't mean the Angels will sell, but with the increased chatter it's looking more and more like they may sell and reality has finally set in to the front office.

I'm not opposed to this plan at all, in fact, wrote back in June about how the Angels needed to host a fire sale.  The writing has been on the way since long before the recent sweep by the Astros.

More to come!
