Arizona Fall League rosters announced

Which Angels prospects made the cut?

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Fall League is just around the corner and MLB announced the schedule and rosters today.  The Angels Org players will be on the Scottsdale Scorpions when the season starts on October 11th.  Below are the 6 Angels prospects who made the cut.

These are the guys you'll want to follow to help you get through the dark times when the regular season ends and all we have is playoff baseball.  The AFL also extends about 3 weeks past the end of the season (after the Series ends).

Pitchers

Victor Alcantara, RHP, 23
Alcantara had a 4.42 ERA in 27 games this year for AA Arkansas. He struck out 77 in 108 IP.  His fastball can hit the upper 90s.   He is the #8 Prospect in MLB Pipeline

Adam Hofacket, RHP, 22
Hofacket had a 2.53 ERA and Burlington and 4.83 ERA in High A after his call up at the end of May.  His fastball hits the mid 90s and he could be a future closer or setup guy.

Eduardo Paredes, RHP, 21
Paredes was moved up to AA on May 23rd.  He had a 3.38 ERA and 1.19 WHIP for Arkansas and struck out 41 in 45.1 innings.  While his time with the Travelers wasn't amazing, Paredes has been pretty dominant through his minor league career and has 235 Ks in 200 innings with a career 2.52 ERA.

Fielders

Taylor Ward, C, 23
Ward was the highly touted #1 draft pick fro 2015.  He had a great season in rookie and A ball in 2015, but struggled at the plate most of 2016

David Fletcher, SS, 22
Fletcher isn't super flashy, but has made his way to the #9 spot in the Angles pipeline.  He was called up to AA a few weeks ago and is hitting .302 in 13 games.

Michael Hermosillo, OF, 21
While he's not in the pipeline (like most of these guys), Hermosillo got called up to high A in July and is hitting .316/.399/.496 there.  Was a 3 sport athlete in high school and is adjusting well to pro ball.
