So you're saying there's a chance?

The Angels have NOT been mathematically eliminated from a wild card spot - yet

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Can the Angels still make the playoffs this year?  Sure!  Is it likely?  You be the judge.  All you have to do is hope the Blue Jays, Orioles, Tigers, Yankees, Astros, Mariners, Royals, and White Sox all go on epic losing streaks while the Angels go on an epic winning streak.  I wonder what the actual odds are of that happening?

Have no fear!  We have the scenario right here for you at Halos Heaven.  The ties are okay since the Angels have better head to head records against those teams.  I think 81 wins takes the wild card this year.

wins losses total wins
Angels 18 2 81
Blue Jays 3 17 81
Orioles 2 18 80
Tigers 5 15 81
Yankess 4 16 80
Astros 5 14 80
Mariners 6 13 81
Royals 7 13 81
White Sox 13 7 81

I guess the naysayers will naysay that the above records aren't possible since many of the above teams play each other in the remaining 20 games, but I say - don't rain on my parade yet!  We can do this and it starts with a sweep of the Mariners, while the Red Sox sweep the Orioles, the Rays sweep the Jays, the Twins sweep the Tigers, the A's sweep the Royals, and the Rangers sweep the Astros.

When does the pre-sale start for post season tickets?  I want in.
