Mike Trout addresses BBWAA dinner audience after receiving his 2016 AL MVP award

Last night in New York, the BBWAA had their annual awards dinner that saw Mike Trout finally receiving his 2016 AL MVP trophy. He was there with his close-knit family, of course, and it looked like a good evening was had by all.

Sitting up at the dais with Trout was Michael Fulmer (AL Rookie of the Year), Rick Porcello (AL Cy Young), Kris Bryant (NL MVP), Max Scherzer (NL Cy Young) and Corey Seager (NL Rookie of the Year). It was just the 3rd time in MLB history that the two MVP winners taking the podium were both 25 years or younger at season’s end. MLB has to be pretty stoked to be so loaded up with these young phenoms.

I love seeing Trout so excited, like a kid on Christmas morning. Now go out and win another one in 2017, Mike!

If you want to check out the speech he gave at the dinner, here you go:
