The saga of Juan Graterol is a long and storied one. Our hapless hero seems unable to find a landing spot this off season.
The Reds claimed Graterol off waivers on November 28th
The Diamondbacks claimed Graterol off waivers on December 23rd
The Angels claimed Graterol off waivers on January 19th
The Blue Jays claimed Graterol off waivers on January 23rd
This doesn’t even count the two Dominican teams he played winter ball for. It’s got to be incredibly difficult to find matching elbow guards and shoes when you don’t even know what team you will playing for from week to week or day to day. At this point Graterol should just try and shoot for some record before the season starts. How many times will his contract change hands?
I had thought the Angels picked up Graterol for needed catching depth, but apparently it was just a passing fancy for Eppler - who kept Graterol barely 4 days.
This new editing tool doesn’t yet allow for in-post surveys, but take your best guess - how many teams will Juan Graterol end up on before the 2017 season starts?
