Angels 2017 Spring Training info: Important dates, game schedule & how to watch

Angels Spring Training begins this week, and we’ve put together a handy reference guide for YOU, the avid Halos fan and loyal Halos Heaven community member. All of the hope and excitement and anticipation starts now; Mike Trout, Garrett Richards, Andrelton Simmons, Kole Calhoun, Mike Scioscia, the Rally Monkey and all the other Angels, familiar and new faces alike, are ready to rip it up.

Anything else you need to know is going to be covered in this article. Here’s how you can follow along with the Angels action:

February 14th: Pitchers and catchers report

Pitchers and catchers are first to show up to this particular party. Fans think of it as a holiday, basically, because it means baseball is finally out of hibernation and for duty in Tempe, Arizona.

February 15th: First workout

The pitchers and catchers have their first workout of the season together. Fun stuff.

February 17th: Rest of the team reports, physicals

Here is the day when Mike Trout will show up. Actually, he’ll probably be there early in the week, but this is OFFICIALLY the day when Mike Trout and the rest of the position players report for duty. This is also when everybody gets a little visit to the team doctor to make sure they are fit as a fiddle.

February 18th: First full squad workout

The squad is back together again, finally, and on this coming Saturday, they’ll all be on a practice field, doing some stretches, getting a good workout in, chatting, etc. The journey begins.

The Angels will then have plenty of workout, practice and drill time between then and February 25th, which is when their first Spring Training game takes place. All 34 games will be televised on Fox Sports West, except for the Freeway Series games on 3/30 & 3/31, which will be on KCOP and Prime Ticket, respectively (and don’t forget about Fox Sports GO, too, if you want to stream on your computer or mobile device).
