The Angels start playing ACTUAL baseball games on Saturday!!

The Angels host the Brewers at Tempe Diablo Stadium

MLB: Los Angeles Angels-Workouts Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

I’m going to be busy Saturday, or I’d be watching some live baseball as the Angels host the Brewers at 12:10 PT. The first actual spring training games take place on Friday, but who wants to watch the Phillies and Yankees??

To those of you heading to Tempe this weekend, be sure to check out the awesome Halos Heaven Spring Training guide. The game will also be broadcast on FSW and MLB.TV

If you plan to watch the game, here is your viewing guide:

Catcher Swap

We should get to see the former Angel with one the best names - Jett Bandy as he dukes it out behind the plate with new Angel Marin Maldando. Bandy and Maldando are both in line to be their respective team’s main catcher in 2017.

Former Halo Outfielders

There are A LOT of these dudes floating around the league and Kirk Nieuwenhuis (aka Brewers 4th outfielder) should take the field at some point in this game. Pop quiz - how many people have played Left Field for the Angels in the last 3 years?

Starting Pitcher Battle

Which Angels hurler will get to throw the first pitch of the 2017 spring training season? Any bets? We have about 47 to pick from, so choose wisely!

Re-Tooled Team

Maldanado (C), Danny Espinsoa (2B), Cameron Maybin (LF), Luis Valbuena (1B). This is our first chance to see the new look in the field. Should be pretty cool to see all these new guys playing with the regulars and check out that amped up defense (and offense).

Street Light

Huston Street has lost 15 pounds. We may get to see what he looked like pitching after getting back in shape and recovering from recent injury issues.

Cron Bubble

Cron has been improving the last few years, but with Valbuena and a healthy Pujols, what happens to him? He needs to impress in spring training. He’ll be the DH mostly for now I’m sure since Valbuena has a better glove.

There are MANY, MANY more things to look forward to in this first game and the ones to come. A lot of new guys in camp, and a lot of chances to see people like Keynan Middleton, Taylor Ward, Matt Thaiss, and others.

What are you most looking forward to??

My predictions: Someone will win. There will be at least one homerun. There will be a gramps sighting and talk about his health. And none of those prediction will matter - because baseball games will be back!!
