Angels Week 6 Rankings - Position Players

The good, the bad, and the meh - Steal some bases

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at Houston Astros Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

Summary

Mike Trout made up for lost time and hit 3 homeruns and stole 2 bases in just 4 games that he played this past week. The Angels only scored 25 runs this past week which was 12 in the AL, and their .221 AVG landed them at 14th. Offensively, the Angels didn’t excel at much other than stolen bases of which they had 9 - good enough for 2nd place behind the Rangers.

Maybin, Cron, Calhoun, Simmons, and Espinosa all batted under .144 for the week.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.
