Earlier today, the entire Halosphere came crashing down, the Angels world left in ruins. A tad dramatic? Perhaps. Nah, I should probably be MORE dramatic, to really describe the dire nature of this baseball injustice.
Mike Trout, who had originally gotten hurt trying to steal a base in yesterday’s game against the Marlins, and the Angels announced that the best player on the planet had a tear in the left thumb UCL, and he was going on the DL for the first time EVER in his historic career. Angels fans knew this day had to come, but now? When he’s playing the best baseball we’ve ever seen (which basically means he’s playing the best baseball ANYBODY has seen)?
That’s just brutal. Well, his time on the DL was going to come down to whether or not he’d have surger, and we now know that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Mike Trout is headed for a BIG chunk of time missed. Wow. Words can’t express the cloud that’s hanging over every Angels fans’ head right now.
Mike Trout has chosen to undergo surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Yep, the guy that’s destroying most stat leaderboards in the AL right now is going to be gone for 6-8 weeks. This is a devastating blow to a team that has already dealt with some pretty devastating blows. 2017 was ugly already, but it’s about to get uglier.
