Angels go back to old losing ways against Kansas City on Fathers Day

They finally beat KC last night. Today, they lost 7-3. Welp.

A win against the Royals on Fathers Day would’ve been a pretty good present to all the Halos dads out there. But wins against the Royals don’t come easy this year...they barely come at all, with last night’s victory seeming like it’s already a mirage we had seen collectively, or a shared dream.

Alas, today’s tussle had the two teams sparring back and forth, with big, extra base hits by Kole Calhoun and Mike Moustakes, or some important knocks from Andrelton Simmons and Eric Hosmer. JC Ramirez was doing ok for the first couple, but when he hit the third, he derailed. It took over 30 pitches to get out of the inning, and a quick Halos lead had already disintegrated.

Ramirez might have melted out there in the hot sun, because his day was done early, and in the fourth, Keynan Middleton on the mound in relief, gave up the day’s biggest shot, a three-run jack to Salvador Perez that made the game 7-2 Kansas City.

The Angels would get a run back eventually, and if they hadn’t dished out that long ball, it would have been quite closer. They may have lost anyway, but it’d be closer on the scoreboard.

Alas, we have a 7-3 loss on Fathers Day. Oh well. I’m going to go enjoy a bunch bbq at my parents house, like a boss, in honor of dad.
