Angels Week 12 Rankings - Position Players

The good, the bad, and the meh - All your bases are belong to us

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at Boston Red Sox Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

Summary

Maldanado and Maybin both had multi homer weeks and 7 Angels hitters had an average above .300 while baserunners also swiped 6 more bases. The Angels offense has stolen more bases (27) than any other team so far in the month of June and have scored the 6th most runs in the AL during the month. All those stolen bases in spring training were no fluke - this is an Angels team that isn’t afraid to run!

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Not on this list:

Mike Trout, 10 day DL

Changes:

6/23 C.J. Cron sent to Minors (surprise!)
6/25 Kaleb Cowart called up from Minors

* Player is not on the active 25-man roster
