The Dodgers finally rediscovered their offense last night. You know, the one that has all cylinders batting way over their heads? Yeah, the one that had won something like 1,467 games in a row before having to deal with the team that owns Southern California. Homer homer homer. J.C. Ramirez got crushed. Dodgers cruise to a 6-2 win and manage to salvage a series tie with our Angels.
Now we deal with the Mariners for the weekend before dashing off to Minnesota for the 4th of July Holiday.
More of the Lost Weeks Links:
A Little Bit of Angels News
It took the MSM a while, mostly because they all go to sleep early on game nights, back East as they mostly are. But they finally woke up to the fantastic game-ender Wednesday night. Let's dance. Here...........here............here...........here............here (where, comically, Yasmani Grandal is recognizes for having played a hero twice in the ninth inning)............and my personal fave, here...........
Yeah, we don't understand it either. Just stop asking questions and enjoy the ride as this Angels team without Mike Trout and without their original starting rotation is actually improving.............
Which puts Billy Eppler in a tough spot. He now has a stable of decent trade chips, proven in real games. With those, he could grab some prospects to stock the farm. But the winning, especially against probable playoff teams. shows that these guys still have a shot. How could Eppler pull the plug on the 2017 playoff chances just to pad the playoff chances of some other year? But then, the temptation to strike on the trade market while the iron is so hot might be too much to pass up............
FWIW, the 2017 Trade deadline is 1PM PDT, July 31. And at this rate Trout will be back well before then............
You would think that Brandon Marsh would know about sliding dangers from this whole Trout example...........
Minor League prospect Jaime Barria made the World Roster for the All-Star Futures Game............
Tonight's game with the Mariners will be THE featured live Facebook stream event. All you near and far can follow, without blackout worries, by going here for the particulars..........
Nike is having too much fun creating new shoe designs named after Mike Trout. Look like they would be well-suited for Wimbledon............Mike, himself, is pretty stoked.............
I love you Sam Miller, but if you are going to follow your own rules and name the Top 10 players in Baseball "Right now. Neither 10 minutes ago nor 10 minutes from now, but right now", it's only fair to admit that Mike Trout cannot be #1 while he is unable to play at all. But it still is a great chance to post that liquid gold Trout synopsis..............
Josh Mayhood's Library of Mike Trout Hagiography
This section placed on hold indefinitely, in memory of Mike Trout's 2017 season. In the meantime, we provide The Jessica DeLine Trout Recovery Watch tracker. When will Mike be back?

Everywhere In Baseball
Ah, man, it just keeps on happening. Freddie Freeman, Mike Trout, and now Trea Turner is out with a broken wrist. This could have been a very exciting season..........
This makes more sense. The early bidders hoping to pay Jeffry Loria's stupid asking price for the Marlins were not un-stupid enough to actually be capable of raising that much money anyway. It looks like the Marlins will be sold, for for a less stupid price...............
Josh Donaldson, up there on Sam Miller's Top 10 list of best MLB players right now, is not of the mind that his numbers support an All-Star Team nomination..............
Say what you will about "chin music" there is some decent math to suggest that the trend in recent years away from pitching high and tight might be contributing to the rise of home runs. Batters may be getting too comfortable............
Lou Williams, pro basketball player, is in the diss mood over the writers about sport. "Nerds", "Not one athletic bone in their body with all the opinions and analysis". Specifically, he tells us that "...my tweet was aimed at the homemade podcast and basement bloggers who got the most to say." Which means guys like me, who are not "pros". Now, as it happens, I played a lot of ball when I was a punk, both baseball and basketball with some football and a smidgen of track and field. All the way up until I shattered both of my ankles. I know that I have an athletic bone or two left in this body. So does my personal trainer. But here is my angle. My oldest son doesn't believe this. We have this running bet, left unclaimed. He knows that I have not picked up a baseball bat against serious pitching for over three decades. I tell him that I can still walk into a 90mph cage and make contact, and all I need are 10 warm-up pitches in the 60mph cage. He laughs. Well, he will come back to town soon enough. We will do this. He will record it. You will see the result. And so will will Lou Williams............

The Duffle Bag
Looks like Johnny G. found his place in life..............And it looks like Kevin Jepsen is still hanging in there himself...........Here is one for your kids (Ok, and for the kid within you): SportsIllustrated Kids takes us through the life of a baseball............This could be it for Bartolo Colon...........In the Land of Obvious, MLB pitchers think the ball is juiced............The Yankees latest wunderkind, Dustin Fowler, made his debt last night...........And then the Yankees latest wunderkind, Dustin Fowler, was carried off on a stretcher less than one inning into his debut..............

Jordan Serena Destiny Watch
Aha! So THAT'S the reason Serena has not been getting playing time with the 66ers. He got moved up to AA Mobile to play with the Baybears. Special shout out goes to Radwen77 for calling it to our attention. So, until Serena gets moved again, we are all BayBears fans.............
Serena opened his rotation out of Mobile as DH against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, clocking a pair of doubles, going 2 for 3 and scoring a run............Last night's game was rained out, and will be picked up today in the 5th inning. Serena is 0-2 in the game so far..............
