I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.
Summary
Hot damn this was a depressing offensive week wasn’t it? It’s performances likes these that make it really hard to sort out the rankings. Thus - you see Yunel Escobar jumping all the way up to #1. I mean, we are talking about 16 total runs in 7 games. 16 runs is just 1 shy of what the Red Sox scored on Sunday - in one day! 16 runs is just 3 more than the Yankees and Giants scored on Friday. I could go on, but I think you all get the point. The Angels hit just .205 in a week where the offense was pretty much absent. Good thing Mike Trout is coming back soon.
These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.
Not on this list:
Mike Trout, 10 day DL
