The good, the bad, and the meh - Super Simmons and Crushing Cowart

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

Summary

The Angels offense decided to show up last week, scoring 35 runs in 6 games, including double digit runs in Sunday’s loss. Six regulars player had a batting average over .360 on the week. There were 24 extra base hits including 6 homers and and 2 triples.

Bring the boom didn’t get the job done, however, as the Angels only managed 2 wins in 6 games.

Good news? The Angels seem to have a found a second baseman who can hit - but only by converting a third baseman.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Not on this list:

Humpty Dumpty Cameron Maybin, 10 day DL

Changes:

7/25 Kaleb Cowart called up from Minors
7/29 Nick Franklin Designated for Assignment

* Player is not on the active 25-man roster
