The Angels lost again today, on the 4th of July. That is not cool.
J.C. Ramirez had another bad start, so that’s concerning. The bullpen, however, fared much but better. The fact that Ramirez gave up four earned runs off of seven hits in just five innings is quite troubling to me, as it’s just the latest in a series of back-sliding days on the bump.
The game was pretty close for a large part of it, but in the fifth and sixth, the Twins jumped all over the Halos and Ramirez, and pulled away enough that not even a late-inning, 459 ft bomb from Albert Pujols could sway the foreboding outcome of today’s contest. The Angels would make a dent, but they’d still lose 5-4 on Independence Day.
Now that we’ve got that disappointing piece of business out of the way, it’s time for us to go out and enjoy our holiday, I think. There’s plenty time in the rest of this broken-up week to lament the shortcomings of the Angels over the past three games...which were all losses.
NOPE! Not gonna think about it. Yet...
Enjoy your 4th of July, everybody. Go Angels. Go USA.
