The Angels announced today that Yunel Escobar would miss 2-3 weeks with a mild grade 1 right oblique strain.

He injured his leg over the weekend, and he did not play last night in the series opener against Baltimore.
For those of you thinking this might open up some time for Cowart, that is still to be determined.

As such, Cowart is not in the lineup tonight, despite Jeff Fletcher reporting this:

Escobar was hitting .274/.333/.397/.730 through 89 games this season, all the while playing shaky defense. He had 12 errors for a .958 FLD%.
