For the first time since 2013, Mike Trout is leading off for the Los Angeles Angels. Even then, it was only for 18 games. I’ve always advocated for this, and I’m glad to see it’s coming to fruition, even if it happened by a process of elimination.
Kole Calhoun? Lefty on the mound, so nope.
Cameron Maybin? Traded.
Andrelton Simmons? Doesn’t like it.
Brandon Phillips? Out with an injury.
For better or for worse, we are all back where we started, and let’s hope this is the catalyst that gets the team into the postseason.
