Angels Week 22 Rankings - Pitchers

The good, the bad, and the meh - Starters falter

MLB: Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

It was a rough week for starters last week who had a 9.28 ERA. The bullpen was much, much better with a 2.31 ERA and outside of Keynan Middleton only 2 runs were allowed (by Blake Wood and Jesse Chavez). The non-Middleton bullpen ERA was stellar 0.72.

September call-ups brought us the return of Fernanado Salas who had been signed to a AAA deal, as well as new faces Noe Ramirez and Jason Gurka. Bud Norris landed on the DL while Huston Street, Andrew Bailey, Alex Meyer, and JC Ramirez were all transferred to the 60 day DL, giving assurance they will not pitch again in 2017.

Not on this list:

Matt Shoemaker, 10 day DLL
Nick Tropeano, 60 day DL
Garrett Richards, 60 day DL
Huston Street, 10 day DL
Alex Meyer, 10 day DL
Nate Smith, unknown

8/29 Bud Norris placed on 10 Day DL
9/29 Huston Street transferred to 60 Day DL
8/30 Garrett Richards sent to Minors for rehabilitation
8/31 Andrew Bailey transferred to 60 Day DL
9/1 Alex Meyer transferred to 60 Day DL
9/1 Noe Ramirez called up from Minors
9/1 JC Ramirez transferred to 60 Day DL
9/1 Jason Gurka purchased from Minors
9/1 Fernando Salas purchased from Minors
