Alex Meyer was released just over a month ago to free up roster space, and around the time it was announced he had a setback in his recovery. The Angels had always been pretty high on Meyer who missed all of 2018 due to shoulder surgery.
The Angels have agreed to terms to bring back Alex Meyer on a minor league deal, a source confirms to The Athletic. Meyer was released earlier this offseason. Missed all of 2018 after shoulder surgery. @Brandon_Warne had it first.

Meyer, who turns 29 in a few days, hasn’t pitched since July 19th of 2017 - a game in which he struck out 7 over 7 innings on just 1 hit. Meyer had indeed been showing signs of promise before his injury so it makes sense for the Angels to bring him back for another shot.
Due to his setback, Meyer is not set to start throwing until mid February and I would expect to see him in Spring Training.
