Taylor Ward no longer a catcher

The once-hyped project has been moved to third base.

So close, yet so far.

You may remember Taylor Ward from many things. You may remember him from the fact that the Angels drafted yet another catcher in the first round of the MLB draft in 2015. You may remember him from the fact that no one really projected him to go anywhere before the third round. You may remember from the infamous GIF. You may remember him from his solid first season, and the drop-off afterwards. However you remember him, know that that is an era of the past.

Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register reports that the Angels have now moved the once-hyped catcher to third base. He’s been hitting for average, but not hitting for much power, making the move a little puzzling. Whatever the reasoning, we can always trust that Billy Eppler has the team’s best interests in mind.

In the meantime, 10 points for each user who reposts the infamous GIF!
