NOhtani, No problem - Angels roll over Rangers for second straight game

Ohtani didn’t start the game due to a lefty on the mound

When word came out that “already a legend” Shohei Ohtani wouldn’t be in the starting lineup - the Internet went nuts. Go ahead and read the comments on this Tweet (I’ll spare you the Facebook comments)

I have to admit, that bottom of the lineup looked a bit less that potent - but they proved us all wrong because this team is on a mission!!

That’s right. Every single Angels starter had a hit tonight with 7 of them having multi hit games. In total, the Angels destroyed the Rangers with 18 hits and 11 runs because apparently they had to out-do their whipping of the Rangers last night.

This team was hitting the ball HARD too. Take a look at this data which was just through the 4th inning:

Mike Trout hit a BOMB that went almost 450’ (441 to be exact) and he has now hit a HR in each of the first 4 series of the year. Some may say Trout still isn’t quite right though but maybe that’s just high standards?? I mean he DOES have a .245 AVG and a .902 OPS along with 4 home runs an a pair of stolen bases. I wouldn’t worry about Mike Trout. He’ll be just fine.

Andrelton Simmons also went deep in this game for his first dinger of the year while Martin Maldonado and Jefry Marte had themselves 3 hit games.

Tyler Skaggs was left that efficient with 114 pitches needed to get through 5 innings, but he allowed just 1 run on 5 hits.

Shohei Ohtani? He DID show up in the 9th inning for a pinch hit appearance and grounded out to second base. He can’t hit a HR in every game I suppose.

The Angels hit .728 with runners in scoring position tonight, they scored in 6 different innings, and they’ve racked up 19 runs on 32 hits in the past 2 days. That is completely insane and I love it!

Light that Baby up indeed!
