Red Sox 9, Angels 0
There was optimism coming into this game, that’s for sure. The Angels, through the first part of the season, were on par with Red Sox. Tuesday’s game was one event. Wednesday’s game was definitely another, much of the same sort.
Tyler Skaggs started the first by giving up two hard-hit balls to Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez, the second of which Trout got a good read on but just missed the jump. Mitch Moreland would cash Ramirez in and just like that it was 1-0 Red Sox.he second of which
In both the 1st and 3rd innings, Ian Kinsler and Mike Trout would reach to start the inning, and yet the Angels would not be able to score.
And then the top of the 3rd game. After a Betts single, Ramirez grounded to third, but Zack Cozart overthrew Ian Kinsler, and everyone was safe. JD Martinez and Moreland reached, and Rafael Devers crushed a grand slam to right center. 6-0.
The Angels were largely listless after that. Martinez and Moreland also homered to put the icing on the cake. The Angels would only manage 6 hits, with blank nights from Justin Upton, Kole Calhoun, Zack Cozart, Andrelton Simmons, and Martin Maldonado.
Another reboot game.
