Angels Week 1 Rankings - Pitchers

The good, the bad, and the meh - The kids are alright

MLB: Spring Training-Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

Many feared pitching would the problem the season, right? Well, the bullpen HAS been a little shaky and they already have 1 blown save (Cam Bedrosian) and a loss (Noe Ramirez) but they also still managed a 2.51 ERA (just ignore that 1.60 WHIP). Starting pitchers, on the other hand, managed a lowly 1.09 WHIP and .202 BAA. Surprisingly, the home runs were down and the Angels currently sit at 11th in the AL with 3 long balls given up.

Not on this list:

Alex Meyer, 60 day DL

Changes:

3/29 - Andrew Heaney placed on 10 day DL

* Player is not on the active 25-man roster
