The good, the bad, and the meh - Trout, Simmons, and the rest

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

29 runs is an improvement from the 17 they scored the previous week, but they had 3 games in which they scored 3 or fewer runs and surprise! They lost all 3 of those. The Halso did steal 5 more bases and knock out 6 more home runs. Marte, Valbuena, Calhoun, Kinsler, and Young all continue to struggle and they were joined by a weak hitting Shohei Ohtani last week as well. Simmons and Trout combined to drive in almost half of their runs last week.

Not on this list:

Rene Rivera, 10 day DL

Changes:

May 24th Ryan Shimpf cleared waivers and became a free agent
May 25th Michael Hermosillo sent to Minors

* Player is not on the active 25-man roster
