Angels Week 12 Rankings - Position Players

The good, the bad, and the meh - Trout & Young carry the team

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

When your backup catcher comes in at #6, you know it was a rough week for a lot of guys not named Mike Trout. Young, Upton, and Trout were the only regular players to hit over .200 last week and there were plenty of strikeouts to go around as well, with Valbuena and Maldonado racking up 17 between just the two of them. Trout and Young combined for 7 home runs (70% of the team’s total) at least so that was fun. Also - Trout, Young, Kinsler, and Pujols combined for 76% of the team’s runs. Just a bit lopsided.
