MondoLinks: Halos Get ‘Napoli’d’ by Kendrys

All your ex-Halos come back to haunt.

I’d tend to pillage the bullpen again for this past weekend, but when they don’t get to play in a fair fight I choose to pull the punch. Nothing we fans can do about shit like this. Not when Rob Manfred insists that the REAL reason we might not want to watch baseball is because the players are too slow to play the game.

But why oh why do our ex-Halo thumpers always keep showing up at the worst time to do something hurtful against us? Don’t they know that they came from the worst farm system in Baseball history?

But before you freak out, keep in mind that the Angels are STILL 5 games above .500 and STILL within striking distance. Fix the bullpen. Get a little bit of health back. Get some better umpires. Get some better lineups. Profit. Moving on....

They say that making up is hard to do. Tonight, we find out.

Have some Breakfast-Links:

A Little Bit Of Shohei Ohtani News

Ohtani faced live pitching over the weekend..............

He is also throwing again. With his left hand...........

And don’t forget, he gets his UCL reviewed this Thursday............

And, yeah, we are still expecting Ohtani to come back with a bat much sooner than come back on the mound..........

A Little Bit Of Mike Trout News

Trout feels that he needs another week for his finger sprain to “calm down”..............He’s not doing real well as DH and we all know that the team doesn’t do real well when he doesn’t do real well...........

A Little Bit Of Angels News

That was fast. We picked up Hansel Robles off the waiver wire form the Mets, then sent him into the game in the 10th inning on Sunday, where he got to meet ex-Halo Kendrys Morales up close..............

Juan Graterol is in that limbo land where he can’t play for anybody, and is hoping there ends up being anybody who wants him. There will. Probably us. Probably Salt Lake..........

Roberto Baldoquin is having the best season of his MiLB career. And Taylor Blake Ward has a suspicion as to why...........

Jo ‘Baby Trout’ Adell is ready for tearing it up out in San Berdoo, although I thought we weren’t worrying about strikeouts in baseball anymore? And no sooner do I type that, but I get this update..........

Everywhere In Baseball

“It stands to reason...” No, Pittsburgh Pirates, it doesn’t stand up to any reasoning that the entire history of human civilization needs to now make a U-turn and gambling systems should hand over revenue to you so that you can spend it on upgrading your stadium plumbing instead of spending that money out of your own pocket..............

News is that the Royals are the first to let it be known that they are interested in signing soon to be Free Agent Luke Heimlich. This, of course, is some news of interest so it has coverage from many outlets right now. But I wonder if Heimlich will always be written up in news accounts as ‘convicted child molester Luke Heimlich’?..........

Hanley Ramirez is not under investigation after all. Hanley Ramirez is merely a very bad judge of character when it comes to those he chooses to call his friends...........

The Rangers are opening the window to trading away soon-to-be-free-agent Adrian Beltre. That’s got a lot of interesting angles to it. How much of a ‘rental’ could we consider a 39-year old with draining skills? Is this a chance for the Rangers to do Beltre a solid, and park him back into the playoffs one last time? Do the Rangers have a salesman strong enough to fetch back some cool assets? How much longer is Beltre’s career? Enough to make him a serious FA on the next market?.............

Then, still in the trade rumors arena, it seems that the regressing Mariners need some starting rotation help, but “lack prospects and funds”...........

Don’t look now, but THE Matt Harvey might be back...........

Clint Frazier wants to have a word with some stupid stadium architect, somewhere..........

Tim Tebow, rising............Because Tebow is a committed baseball player now..........

People are the worst. Vandals broke in the Buck O’Neil Center at the Negro League Museum and caused a shitload of flooding damage............

In the CWS, Oregon State took out Mississippi State on Saturday 5-2. This puts OSU into the final against Arkansas. It’s a best of three, and game 1 is tonight at 4PM PDT. Game 2 will be Tuesday and, if necessary, Game 3 will be Wednesday..........

In the sports streaming world, consider World Cup 2018. TV ratings are down 44%. “Games on Fox have averaged 1.98 million viewers, compared with 3.55 million on ESPN in 2014...” Then compare that to this news. Global streaming peak for World Cup has already passed Super Bowl record by 40 percent. “Conviva estimated a peak of 7.7 million global viewers during Argentina-Croatia...”. And the lesson there to be learned is?.................

The Duffle Bag

Now players are expected to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ when getting jacked around by the umpire crew?............”No, daddy, the mound is over THERE!”.............You giggle, but watch out. Don’t underestimate kids these days.............Thank you UniWatch: ballpark un-food. Yes, that is a hot dog in a bun made from cotton candy. And then we have The Pawtucket Hot Weiners!!! More on The Hot Wieners here..........The Padres learned that the old adage ‘When in Rome...’ has its merits.............”Be right back, coach. I have to take care of this itch.”..............Danny Espinosa clinging to his day job by a thread. Why doesn’t a guy like that get signed by a Seattle or a Houston?..........
