Angels Week 10 Rankings - Pitchers

The good, the bad, and the meh - Barria and Ricahrds: can’t touch this

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

Justin Anderson got a save. Blake Parker blew a save. I’d say Anderson is the new Bedrosian but that would be just mean since he can actually close games and has better stuff. Too soon? Oh well. I like this kid and his 5 walks are way overstated due to the terrible strike zone last time he pitched. As far as Bedrosian goes or Akeel Morris I say - really Billy? Our starters deserve better to try and finish off games. The bullpen had a 5.90 ERA last week which would have been a much more respectable 3.06 if you didn’t include the aforementioned turds.

Despite a pair of rough starts by Heaney and Skaggs, the starting staff put up a 2.99 ERA thanks to 5 starters who allowed 2 or fewer runs in their games. Barria and Richards moved up quite a bit, which necessitating some others to end up moving down so the below chart may look a bit worse than the situation actually was.

Not on this list:

Alex Meyer, 60 day DL
Matt Shoemaker, 60 day DL
Miguel Almonte, AAA DL
JC Ramirez, 60 day DL
Blake Wood, 10 day DL
