The good, the bad, and the meh - Batting practice

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

Jake Jewell is now out for the season with a broken leg. John Lamb needs TJ surgery. Surprised? No one is. Starters last week had an ERA of 5.63 because John Lamb blew out his arm, Deck McGuire was left in too long, Andrew Heaney can’t decide if he’s good, and well, the Red Sox. Starters gave up a horrific 55 combined runs and walks over 34 innings and the bullpen didn’t fare much better with 29 walks and hits over 20 innings. The pitching staff as a whole gave up 13 home runs in 54 innings (thanks Deck!). It was pretty much a week to forget we have pitchers because they certainly forgot they had to pitch.
