Angels Week 14 Rankings - Position Players

The good, the bad, and the meh - Hits, we ain’t got no hits

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

Andrelton Simmons is the ONLY played on the team to hit more than .280 last week, so that tell you enough about the offense (or lack thereof). Martin Maldonado led the team in RBIs with 6 and he only hit .158. All but 5 players on the team didn’t even hit above the Mendoza Line. In short - the offense was a mess but thank god for the the Orioles because the Angels scored 15 runs against them over 4 games and only 9 runs over their other 4 games this past week.

Not on this list:

Rene Rivera, 60 day DL
Shohei Ohtani, 10 day DL
Zack Cozart, 60 day DL

Changes:

June 26th Juan Graterol cleared waivers and became a free agent
June 27th Nolan Fontana called up from Minors
June 28th Zack Cozart transferred to 60 day DL
June 28th Nolan Fontana sent to Minors
June 29th Jefry Marte sent to Minors for rehabilitation
