Angels 4 Diamondbacks 5
David Peralta was a menace early to Felix Pena who had an otherwise pretty spectacular start. Peralta ended up a triple shy of the cycle and he also drew a walk in his 4 appearances. On base - every single time.
Felix Pena struck out 12 and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. If you take out Peralta, Pena struck out 12 and gave up 1 run on 4 hits. What a menace that dude was. But Pena was making guys not named Peralta look silly all night. See what he did to the red hot Goldy multiple times tonight:
Not to be outdone, the Angels offense had some moves of their own, including a game tying triple by David Fletcher in the 7th - his 3rd hit of the night. Kole Calhoun and Andrelton Simmons had multi hit games and Jefry Marte hit a key home run in the 7th.
But Cam Bedrosian. Cam. Really Cam? Bedrosian came in and hit the first batter he faced. This was followed by a bunt single. Zero outs, runners on 1st and 2nd. What could go wrong? We have Bedrock Subsoil on the mound! I’ll tell you what could go wrong and it wasn’t even with his pitching. Another bunt and our fabled pitcher picks up the ball and tries to make the out at third, but instead launches the baseball into left field.
Game over. Diamondbacks walk off.
